Sculpture - "Pause", photograph,(…)
My skin appears as a dermography: it memorises for a few a few moments the contact imposed upon it. It reacts like photographic paper sensitive to light. This gives me a possibility to express this exchange, this relationship between beings.

My body becomes a kind of sensitive marker revealing in graphical form its environment, keeping track of the fugitive moment. It is my own skin, my own body in which I reside, but having in mind the thought that it is anybody's skin. The skin that encloses us at the same time demarcates us from the other. It implies an attitude towards others (hyper-sensitivity, fragility, being on edge). "The human skin is a meadow where each and every blade of grass is a nerve ending. The slightest physical contact may leave a track of the fugitive moment graven in the brain. This reaction is of very transient character, like a vibration turning into a musical atmosphere: the skin becomes the paper support, the skin texture the notes, the melody. The scratch is the sign, the punctuation, a pause, a rest - unrevealed, suppressed. It is a sign, a gesture that is never uttered but always enforced. This keynote is the score of an emotion.
